Not exactly rare but it’s worth remembering: Last year, the team behind LINEBARRELS OF IRON started an unofficial webcomic based off of the Kamen Rider series entitled HYBRID INSECTOR. It was unique in that it was gritty as hell and brutally deconstructed the Showa Era, set in a world where Shocker won and the Riders are hunted down.

Unfortunately, this was done without Toei’s consent and they put the kibosh on the whole thing. As of now, all 9 chapters of the comic are offline…but that’s never stopped anyone from finding anything before. In the meantime, the team still churns out the occasional bit of Tokusatsu art on their website.
